Take your previous band experiences to a whole new level.
Outstanding and dedicated musicians perform at home football games, local parades, and marching exhibitions. You’ll enjoy meeting new friends, playing music, and performing with other high school musicians.
Expectations
Sign up for Marching Band class.
Attend BAND CAMP, typically in early August.
Participate in PARADES (3 required; 2 optional).
Participate in CONCERTS, home FOOTBALL GAMES, and PEP BAND.
Practice during the summer with your section (highly encouraged).
Practice one evening a week in August, September, and early October and typically four Saturday morning rehearsals in August and September (required).

NOTE:
Marching Band transitions to a Concert Band following the last home football game of the season. The final performance of the season is the Evergreen Concert with the Sunset Middle School 8th grade band in early December. Marching Band members are also required to perform at (2) basketball games in January/February.
Auditions
No auditions are necessary for most sections (woodwinds and brass).
Auditions for LEADERSHIP POSITIONS (drum major, section leader, band manager, social coordinator) are held in March for the following season.
