Welcome to NHS Bands!
Niwot High School has a proud tradition of excellence in its performing ensembles, and the bands are no exception. Many students have found a place to challenge themselves, increase their musical prowess, and make lasting friendships as well as build important skills to be successful down the road.
Being in band and playing in instrumental ensembles was the highlight of my schooling. An experience in the Colorado All-State Band (tenor saxophone) was what got me interested in becoming a music teacher — I haven't looked back since. I have met some amazing people and played in some amazing places (Disneyland, Carnegie Hall, New Orleans) because of music.
I know students come from all over to attend Niwot HS and have brought with them all kinds of different band experiences. The Niwot HS band program welcomes everyone and has ensembles designed to help the beginner become proficient, the proficient become advanced, and the advanced to become leaders.
We have had students go on to pursue instrumental studies in college as well as film-making, visual arts, all kinds of engineering and computer science, biological sciences, and many others. They have continued to play their instruments and share their talents after graduating from Niwot HS.
